Addison is 6 months old

But that's not what this post is about. I wanted to share my sewing project for the week. We'll be going to Arizona in a few weeks and I was worried about Addi's head getting burned so I've been looking for a hat to buy. The problem is that all hats at stores are too big so I thought... "Hey! I'll make one".
So I found a few patterns online and combined them to make a cute hat. The other awesome thing about this project was that I didn't have to go buy any material, I had everything laying around my house. This was the first attempt.

As you can see it didn't really fit and you can tell from Addi's face how she feels about my sewing skills... "I love you mom... but maybe you should find another hobby." It turns out when I printed the pattern, it was automatically set to "shrink to fit on page". Hence the newborn/doll-sized hat. Too bad all of you that I know read this blog are having baby boys this summer otherwise you could have a cute hat to protect your darling baby from the heat of Las Vegas or Texas ;). So if there is someone that reads this that I don't know of and you are having a girl let me know.
Attempt 2 went a little better but is too big so I had to make some adjustments but it turned out ok.

I like the way the first one turned out better but oh well. She'll outgrow it by next year anyway right?

Readers Digest Version

I feel like the past month has been really busy but I guess it was really only 2 weeks that were kindof out of the ordinary.
Here's the highlights:
My Grandma Booth got a tear in her aorta and was put in the ICU up in Idaho Falls. Addison and I made a road trip up by ourselves and she did GREAT in the car. While we were there we got to see my mom and we stayed at Janalee and Derek's in Rexburg. I think these pictures of Addi and Keaton are so funny. (Keaton is exactly one month younger but he weights more than our little featherweight).
Chad, aka my stud of a husband, did a good job holding down the fort back home and even surprised me by doing some major cleaning. It was lovely to come home to such a clean house.
Grandma passed away on March 27th. We loaded up the car again on the 31st, picked up my brothers Jeff and Brent from the airport, and went up to Pocatello for the funeral. It was sad to say goodbye to Grandma but I know she's so happy to be with Grandpa again.

Other than our road trips, life is just chugging along like normal.
Addison-
Keeps getting bigger
Has the cutest smiles

Rolls from back to front
Loves splashing in the tub
Smiles when she wakes up
Likes wrestling with her stuffed lamb. Normally she wins but as you can see, she was defeated this time but took the loss gracefully.

Can almost sit up by herself
LOVES oatmeal cereal and spits out rice cereal

Gives Chad a huge grin everyday when he comes home
Has discovered her feet and now knows how yummy her toes are.
