Hooray for Holidays

We have loved this long holiday weekend. We have gotten to sleep in and relax and it has been glorious! On Thursday, we went over to Chad's grandpa's house for Thanksgiving dinner. There were at least 40 family members there so it was a pretty packed house but it was still alot of fun.
On Friday we opted to not get up early and do Black Friday shopping. Instead we slept in, went on a walk to the post office, the library and THEN since it was on our way back home, we went to Target and got some Christmas tree decorations. We also made a spur of the moment purchase and got 2 banana seat chairs that have the speakers built in on them because they were half off and we have been needing something to sit on when we watch movies on the computer... fold up chairs just weren't cutting it anymore. I should mention that all of the places we walked to were only within a few blocks of one another so its not like we really went on a huge adventure. I decided that when we have kids, I'm going to be even more excited that the library is within walking distance so that we can go ALL the time. Actually, recently the library has become a rekindled love for me. When I first walked into the Orem Public library to get my library card about 2 months ago, I can honestly say that I got a little giddy inside. Unfortunately, one of the downsides about living in Orem is that there are ALOT of people that like to read so all of the books that I have missed reading for the past 7 years or so are checked out and there's a waiting list of about a million people. But that's ok. Its given me a chance to reread some of the books that I really liked when I was younger (The Giver, Devil's Arithmetic, Beauty and Briar Rose). Anyway... that was a tangent that I wasn't planning on writing about.
Here is our lovely '1st Christmas as a Married Couple' tree. I think it actually looks alot nicer in real life but no matter how many pictures I tried to take, none of them worked very good.
Here is our living room with our stockings hung up by the fireplace (which Chad finally got to work! Hooray!).

I'm so excited that Christmas is less than a month away! Its my favorite holiday and it a double bonus that we get to go back to Omaha AND Lakeville again this year.
